365 Lucky Days, series.
‘So I have had this goal for a while, to make something every day for one year. With any goal you need accountability and that is why I am committing myself, in blog format, to create with love a new work of art every day for the next 365 days. I hope that you all are inspired to create something every day’

Lorenzo Nanni - Textile Artist

thisistrendspiration:

These magical looking sculptures are hand crafted using silks, embroidery and embellishments by artist Lorenzo Nanni.

Lorenzo creates incredibly detailed representations of the sort of glittering jewel-like creatures and botany that you might find underwater.

Fragments by Lorenzo Nanni (2001)

Lorenzo Nanni is a textile artist living and working in Paris. His handmade fiber sculptures are inspired by organic matter and living forms. He reinterprets images of botany and anatomy through traditional embroidery and haute couture techniques, using natural materials and minerals.

Embroidered Book Sculptures by Betty Pepper

Betty Pepper is a textile/jewellery designer maker. In her effort to find that elusive something which makes an object desirable and somewhat ‘magical’ she explores different media and techniques in both two and three-dimensions. Her work is inspired by stories, memories, things from the past, over-hearings and misgivings.

“The ways in which time changes and decays objects interests me greatly and I like the notion that all things are ephemeral and constantly in a state of deterioration. My work often deals with stories from the dim and distant past. This is why I choose to work with faded colours. I like the way they look as if they have lived a little.”
